Frequently Asked Questions About Selling Watches
Q. Do you buy knock-offs or replica watches?
A. Like costume jewelry, replica and knock-off watches have no value to us unless they are made of a precious metal or contain real gemstones.
Q. Does my watch have to be gold or platinum to have any value?
A. No, fine watches made of stainless steel and silver can be worth something depending upon the designer and the model.
We purchase many different brands of watches, Rolex, Cartier and plenty more.
Q. Will you buy Quartz watches?
A. No, unfortunately you’ll have to find another way to recycle your Quartz watch, they do not fall under the category of fine watches.
Q. Will you buy my watch even if it doesn’t work?
A. Yes, we buy watches in various states of disrepair. The value is higher for working pieces. However there is no need to have it repaired, we’ll give you a good price on it anyway.
Q. What constitutes an antique watch?
A. As a general rule, an item over 100 years old is considered an antique. However age doesn’t lend value to an inexpensive or mass produced timepiece.
Q. What constitutes an vintage watch?
A. As a general rule, an item over 40 years old is considered an antique. Again, age doesn’t add value to a watch that was never valuable to begin with.
Q. Should I send the original paperwork and packaging when I sell my preowned watch?
A. Any documentation, manuals and boxes from your original purchase are helpful in determining the value of your preowned watch.
